VISION - what do we want to see
- We want to see a reduction in the incidence of suicide across Inishowen.
- We want to see healthy, resilient and caring communities which promote wellbeing for the whole person.
- We want to ensure that people in crisis have easy and speedy access to the services they need.
- We want to ensure that those bereaved by suicide receive the support and care they need over the long term.

Our Purpose and Goals
Insight Inishowen works in Inishowen, County Donegal to build resilient communities by promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing and preventing suicide. We will do this by:
1) Providing of support services including listening ear, counselling services group work and a range of additional holistic services for those who require support and those bereaved through suicide.
2) Providing education and training for adults and young people in Inishowen to increase the support and safety net of trained volunteers in the area and to equip people to be resilient and to take care of their own wellbeing.
3) Organising information and awareness campaigns encouraging positive mental health and improved well being, ensuring that those at risk of self-harm and those who vulnerable to suicidal thoughts find the support and help they need.
4) Running wellbeing events and programmes for the whole community to promote resiliency and a holistic approach to wellbeing such as our award-winning Feel Good Fortnight festival.

Feel Good Fortnight
Two weeks of sunshine whatever the weather!
This award-winning community festival is a chance to share, celebrate and enjoy all that is good, positive and healthy about our community. This year's event runs from 25 June to 9 June with a packed programme of "feel good" events for all ages!

Support Services
Insight Inishowen provides practical help and support for individuals and family members through our professional counselling service as well as more informal listening ear and alternative therapies. We also support families bereaved by suicide and those affected by chronic mental illness through a range of events and programmes.
Our Reflective Space at the shorefront in Buncrana is a place of remembrance and a symbol of hope for our community. The mosaic, created by local artists, uses pieces of broken pottery and hand-made tiles featuring positive messages to show how beauty can come even out of brokenness and pain.

Education, Training and Awareness
Insight Inishowen equips individuals and groups within our community to cope with life’s challenges. Our workshops are practical, creative and interactive.

Media and social media campaigns also help to raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health and suicide. The "Talk Buncrana" campaign encouraged people to find someone to talk to while media interviews have addressed issues such as losing a family member to suicide and coping with long-term mental illness.
