Saturday 28 June - Saturday 12 July 2025 
Two weeks of sunshine whatever the weather! 
 
Feel Good Fortnight is an opportunity to share and celebrate all that is good, healthy and positive in our community and to invite other people to take part.This year’s programme is packed with fun events and creative ideas to put a smile on your face. Don’t miss out!  
 
Try something new, find out what is happening across our community, meet new friends and take care of your wellbeing.  
 
Happening throughout the Fortnight: 
  • Feel Good Library Tree & Yarn bombing - the iconic tree will be all dressed up in time for FGF and watch out for fun and beautiful art around town. 
  • Feel Good Wee Library - check out a selection of “feel good” titles in the library outside The Exchange. 
  • Random Acts of Kindness – watch out for some lovely surprises or plan your own. 
  • Reflective Space mosaic– we will be working to replace our beautiful mosaic at the shore front (opposite the Amazing Grace Viewing point) – if you would like to help, please contact Andrew on 087 256 4777. 
  • Buncrana Children’s Charity will offer special ‘feel good’ offers and treats  ​throughout the fortnight in their shop in Main Street, Buncrana.  
 
Saturday 28 June 
 
Buncrana Parkrun 
9am Meet: Tip O’Neill Statue Buncrana Shorefront 
Wear colourful clothing for a Feelgood parkrun (or walk) for fitness and fun! Meet new friends. All ages!  
 
FGF Sandcastle Competition  
2pm - 4pm Lady’s Bay, Buncrana Shorefront.  
Join the annual Feel Good Fortnight Sandcastle Competition. Come as a family or create a team to battle out for the winning design. All welcome. Prizegiving at 3.45pm. Whatever the weather! 
 
Experimental Cyanotype Workshop  
10am - 6pm Port Bán (Dunree Beach) 
Have you ever pondered the origins of photography before the camera's invention in 1816? This one-day workshop explores the rich history of cyanotype, a camera-less image capturing process known since the 19th century. Delve into the world of alternative photographic printing, which, despite its age, is making a resurgence due to its distinctive visual appeal and environmentally friendly nature. Join us to uncover the enduring legacy and evolving applications of this historic technique. To be eligible for this workshop you must be 18 or over on the start date of the course. One World Together - Family Fun Day 
1-4pm Buncrana GAA, The Scarvey, Railway Road, Buncrana 
Join us for a spectacular celebration of music, dance, food and culture. Featuring main stage acts String Empire, Inish Theatre Group, Studio 47 and Elite Dance Academy along with intercultural food tasting, free face painting, hair braiding, craft workshops, family fun games, have-a-go language workshops, sports, a petting zoo and more! All free. 
 
Monday 30 June 
 
Solas Wellbeing Walk 
11am Meeting Point: Fishing Greens 
Solas Inishowen is an outdoor walking programme that supports mental health recovery. This wellbeing ‘taster’ walk offers the chance for people to join Solas for a walk and learn more about what is involved. Refreshments provided. Limited places. To book call or TEXT Steven on 087 195 4938. 
 
Grow Mental Health Support Group 
7pm The Exchange, Castle Avenue (upstairs) 
Join this free weekly group for anyone with  
depression, anxiety or mental ill health. A caring and confidential support group for over 18s. 
 
Family Scavenger Hunt  
with Buncrana Foróige Club 
7pm at The Exchange, Castle Avenue, Buncrana 
A fun family quiz answering questions from around the town. All ages welcome. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. Return by 8.15pm for refreshments and prizes.  
 
Tuesday 1 July 
Try Patchwork 
7pm at The Exchange, Castle Avenue, Buncrana 
Discover the ancient craft of patchwork - using up scraps of fabric to make fun designs. A fun relaxing sewing workshop. All welcome but basic hand sewing skills required.  
 
Wednesday 2 July  
Mindfulness Workshop 
7pm The Exchange, Castle Ave., Buncrana 
A relaxing evening of mindfulness with Dr Breda Friel. Places limited. Booking essential. Contact: [email protected]

Thursday 3 July 
safeTALK  
Registration at 5.45pm The Exchange, Castle Ave., Buncrana (Workshop runs from 6pm to 9.30pm) 
Help someone when they need it most - safeTALK enables you to identify people who are thinking about suicide and provides you with practical steps to help you connect them with the help they need.  Refreshments provided. This course is FREE but booking is essential. Email [email protected] or phone 0872564777.

Storytime Under the Tree 
11am Buncrana Community Library (under the tree)  
All Children must be accompanied by an adult 
 
Golden Lunches 
1pm The Exchange, Castle Ave,. Buncrana 
Food and fun for over 65s at The Exchange’s weekly lunch with some special feel-good entertainment. All Welcome - no booking required. 
 
Art for Wellbeing 
3pm The Exchange, Castle Ave,. Buncrana 
Relax and enjoy creating art in a fun and supportive environment. No previous experience needed. All ages and abilities welcome but under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. 
 
Speaking of Gaza 
8pm The Exchange, Castle Avenue, Buncrana 
An evening of poetry, music and prose in support of Palestine. All performers welcome. Featuring a fantastic Palestinian stall and donations to PaliHope and Fund a Food Drop.

Circle Dance

Dance your cares away to music from all over the world. Easy dances; no partner needed. All welcome. 
 
Board Games Evening 
7pm at The Exchange, Castle Avenue. 
Try your hand at chess, draughts, scrabble and more or bring a game of your own to share with others. Have fun & make new friends!

Get creative with sand, stones, shells and seaweed to make feel good designs or simply visit our pop-up beach art gallery. Prizes for the best artwork.

Feel Good Fortnight is an award-winning community festival organised by local volunteer-run suicide prevention charity Insight Inishowen.  Most events are free or by donation with proceeds supporting the work of Insight Inishowen or other local charities.
